Description
A fixed line sight made for the early Mk1 Bren Light Machine Guns. In excellent condition and in it’s original carry case.
The original purpose was to allow a Bren mounted on a tripod to be set up with specific limits to its field of fire, remove the gun to be used on a bipod elsewhere and returned to the tripod to confirm the field of fire. However, as this feature was seldom needed in practice, the fixed line sights and their mounting brackets became extremely rare collectibles today.
The actual production numbers for the FLS and the ratio of issue to actual guns are unknown, only 29 Fixed Line Sights have been recorded in a register.
