Description
The Vz. 58 is a versatile and robust assault rifle developed in Czechoslovakia in 1958, serving as the standard service rifle for the Czechoslovakian military. Despite its external resemblance to the AK-47, the Vz. 58 is a completely different design with its own unique internal mechanics, including a short-stroke gas piston and tilting breech block.
The folding stock variant of the Vz. 58, often referred to as the Vz. 58 Folder, is designed for paratroopers, vehicle crews, and other personnel who require a more compact and portable firearm. The folding stock is typically made of steel, and it folds to the side of the receiver, significantly reducing the overall length of the weapon for easier storage and transport. When unfolded, the stock provides a stable and comfortable platform for shooting, similar to the fixed stock version.
The Vz. 58 Folder retains all the key features of the standard Vz. 58, including its 7.62×39mm chambering, reliability in harsh conditions, and ease of maintenance. The folding stock model is especially favored in situations where space is limited, or a more compact rifle is necessary.
